In November 2017 the Carmelite friars (O.Carm.) of the American province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary gave an endowment of 5 million US dollars to the Catholic University (CUA) of Washington, DC, for the purpose of establishing a Chair and Center of Carmelite Studies.

Recently, CUA has begun advertising the position, inviting those who are qualified and interested to apply (see listing on https://provost.cua.edu//positions.cfm).
