General Secretary

Biography

He was born at Mairano (Brescia) on 20th August, 1961. He belongs to the Venice Province. He made his first profession on 12th September, 1981, and Solemn Profession on 2nd March 1986 and was ordained priest on 21st September 1986. After obtaining a Licence in Biblical Sciences at the Biblical Pontifical Institute in Rome, (1986-1989), he taught Sacred Scripture in the “Saint John of the Cross” Theological Studium in Brescia (1989-2000). He was Prior and Master of Students in our Brussels monastery (1999-2005 and 2008-2011) while, from 2005 to 2008, he was Prior and Master of Students in our Brescia monastery. Recently, he was a member of the Adro community, serving both in the Sanctuary and the “Our Lady of the Snows” school. He took part as translator in many of the Order’s international meetings as well as in the last two General Chapters. He is involved in the artistic and cultural fields and is a member of the editorial staff of the “Archa” Cultutal Association. The assiduous guidance of a Carmelite lay community in Latvia is an expression of his missionary and ecumenical passion, developing since the time of his initial formation.

Activity

The Secretary General has the duty of being the Secretary of the Definitory; of keeping in good order, in a special archive, statistical data and and all the documents relating to the government of the Order, having them always ready for consultation; to give help to the General and the Definitors according to the specific instructions that may be received from them (Constitutions 191).
