{"id":41740,"date":"2020-07-15T14:00:50","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T12:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carmelitaniscalzi.com\/?p=41740"},"modified":"2020-07-15T11:56:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T09:56:05","slug":"message-of-john-paul-ii-to-the-carmelite-family-2001","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelitaniscalzi.com\/en\/2020\/07\/15\/message-of-john-paul-ii-to-the-carmelite-family-2001\/","title":{"rendered":"Message of John Paul II to the Carmelite family (2001)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Therefore two truths are evoked by the sign of the Scapular:\u00a0 on the one hand, the constant protection of the Blessed Virgin, not only on life&#8217;s journey, but also at the moment of passing into the fullness of eternal glory; on the other, the awareness that devotion to her cannot be limited to prayers and tributes in her honour on certain occasions, but must become a &#8220;habit&#8221;, that is, a permanent orientation of one&#8217;s own Christian conduct, woven of prayer and interior life, through frequent reception of the sacraments and the concrete practice of the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. In this way the Scapular becomes a sign of the &#8220;covenant&#8221; and reciprocal communion between Mary and the faithful:\u00a0 indeed, it concretely translates the gift of his Mother, which Jesus gave on the Cross to John and, through him, to all of us, and the entrustment of the beloved Apostle and of us to her, who became our spiritual Mother.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/john-paul-ii\/en\/speeches\/2001\/march\/documents\/hf_jp-ii_spe_20010326_ordine-carmelo.html\">http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/john-paul-ii\/en\/speeches\/2001\/march\/documents\/hf_jp-ii_spe_20010326_ordine-carmelo.html<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"wpmf-gallerys wpmf-gallerys-life \" ><div id=\"gallery-1\" class=\"gallery gallery_life wpmf_gallery_default gallery_default  gallery-columns-5 gallery-size-thumbnail gallery-link-post
