{"id":25319,"date":"2019-06-20T00:05:29","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T22:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carmelitaniscalzi.com\/?p=25319\/"},"modified":"2019-06-08T10:30:54","modified_gmt":"2019-06-08T08:30:54","slug":"news-from-the-discalced-carmelite-nuns-peru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelitaniscalzi.com\/en\/2019\/06\/20\/news-from-the-discalced-carmelite-nuns-peru\/","title":{"rendered":"News from the Discalced Carmelite nuns in Peru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201c<strong>Our Lady of Mt Carmel\u201d Association<\/strong> of monasteries of Discalced Carmelite nuns of Peru met together for almost a week from the 20<sup>th<\/sup> to the 25<sup>th<\/sup> of May this present year.<\/p>\n<p>On the 20<sup>th<\/sup>, 21<sup>st<\/sup> and 22<sup>nd<\/sup> of May, the course was held for Prioresses and delegates in two segments:<\/p>\n<p>In the mornings, we had formation conferences, via online, with Fr Rafal Wilkowski OCD., Secretary of the General for the nuns, who developed very interesting topics every day:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First day<\/strong>: The service of authority in communities of Discalced Carmelite nuns.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Second day<\/strong>: Human formation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Third day<\/strong>: Community Project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We Sisters were left very happy and grateful to Father Rafal for having kindly agreed to give us these lectures and for the clarity and simplicity of his exposition. God reward you father.<\/p>\n<p>In the evenings we were assisted by our Discalced Carmelite friars, Fr Alfredo Amesti \u2500Commissar in Peru, Fr \u00c1ngel Zapata \u2500Ecclesiastical Assistant, and Fr Pedro Zubieta \u2500Canonist, reading and reviewing in groups the texts of our future Statutes, which had been previously distributed for study in the communities, in order to be presented to the Assembly for approval.<\/p>\n<p>On the 23rd, 24th and 25th of May was held the <strong>IX ORDINARY ASSEMBLY<\/strong>, with participation of the whole member monasteries (12), represented by their Prioresses and Delegates.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day of the Assembly, elections were held with the following results:<\/p>\n<p><strong>President:<\/strong> M. Liliana de la Sagrada Eucarist\u00eda, from the monastery of San Jos\u00e9 of Arequipa<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Counsellor:<\/strong> M. Elena de la Reina del Carmelo from the Nazarenas monastery of<\/p>\n<p>Discalced Carmelite nuns in Lima<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second Counsellor<\/strong>: M. Mar\u00eda Guadalupe del Ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas from the Piura monastery<\/p>\n<p><strong>Third Counsellor<\/strong>: M. Mar\u00eda de Jes\u00fas from the monastery of san Vicente de Ca\u00f1ete<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fourth Counsellor<\/strong>: M. Juana Teresa de la Cruz from the Ayacucho monastery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Substitute<\/strong>: M. Ketty de Jes\u00fas from the Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Carmen monastery, also known as Carmen Alto de Lima.<\/p>\n<p>And in accordance with the future Statutes that we have approved and which will be presented to the Holy Congregation for approval we elected:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bursar<\/strong>: M.
