Marie-Eugene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 26<sup>th<\/sup> October last, the Teresianum celebrated\/held a congress on Bld. Marie-Eugene of the Child Jesus, entitled: \u2018Fr. Marie-Eugene, Mystic and Teacher\u2019. After the welcome address, given by the President of the faculty, Fr. Denis Chardonnens, there were six conferences: \u2018I want to see God and contemporary debates about mysticism\u2019 (Fr. Bernard Minvielle); &#8220;Bld. Marie-Eugene of the Child Jesus, Discalced Carmelite\u2019 (Fr. Emilio Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez, OCD); \u2018A concept of mystical life rooted in experience\u2019 (Fr. Louis Menvielle, Vice-Postulator of the Cause of Canonisation); \u2018The sanctification of Ordinary life according to Bld. Marie-Eugene\u2019 (Fr. Laurent Touze); \u2018Theology and contemplation in the thought of Fr. Marie-Eugene of the Child Jesus: implications, problems and perspectives&#8221; (Fr. Jesus Manuel Garc\u00eda Guti\u00e9rrrez); and \u2018I want to see God as a theological synthesis\u2019 (Fr. Fran\u00e7ois-Marie L\u00e9thel, OCD).<\/p>\n<p>The conferences were followed by a round table, presided by Fr. Piero Coda and it fell to Fr. Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lefebvre, Director of the \u2018Studium Notre Dame de Vie\u2019, which is affiliated with the Teresianum, draw the discussion to a close.<\/p>\n<p>The congress succeeded in demonstrating Fr. Marie-Eugene\u2019s contribution to theology, particularly to understanding mystical life, placing it in its context, as well as within the Carmelite tradition and showing the validity of his work
