The Teresian Carmelite Missionary Sisters, gathered together for their General Chapter in Madrid, on last October 29th elected as General for the 2016 – 2022 sexennium, Sr María José Gay Miguel, a Spaniard born in Zaragoza on 2nd January 1971. She carried out her formation in Spain and Rome and has held various assignments, nearly always connected to formation, in her city of birth, the Philippines and Chile. In 2010, she was appointed Vicar General and Delegate General of formation. The same day Sr Inés Fernández Rodríguez was elected the new Vicar General and the next day the General Councillors were elected: Sisters Marcela Jaque, María Teresa García and Floride Mukabideri. Let us pray for the new General Government of this congregation so dear to us.
